Rosacea is a chronic, inflammatory skin condition that affects adults over age 30. Small blood capillaries, bumps and pus-filled lesions appear on the skin, where they give a “blushed” or “flushed” appearance. Often referred to as “adult acne,” resulting in a persistent redness in the center of the face that may gradually involve the cheeks, forehead, chin, and nose. In most people, symptoms of rosacea flare up for a period of time, and then lessen before flaring up once again.
Rosecea is a persistent disease that has no cure, but SKIN Cosmetic Dermatology can offer good treatment to offer relief, and reduce the symptoms. It’s also a progressive disease, which worsens over time. Early diagnosis and treatment can control the signs and progression of the disease. Dr. Brooks will customize a treatment plan for you, which may include topical medications, and laser treatments.
