IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Photo Facial treatment uses intense pulsed light to penetrate the deepest levels of the skin, which results in your body producing new collagen. As the new collagen forms, it softens the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. After a series of IPL treatments, you skin is smoother, healthier, and younger looking. IPL is great for treating rosacea, sun damaged skin, large pores, age spots, facial veins, and wrinkles. The redness and flushing of rosacea can be reduced 80 to 90 percent. IPL is most often used on the face, but can also be used on neck, chest and even the hands.
You will see improvement after the first IPL treatment, but most patients undergo a series of 5 – 8 treatments, scheduled 3 weeks apart. Fine lines and wrinkles will gradually decrease in size. These improvements will steadily increase with each treatment. If you have rosacea, you will see a progressive decrease in redness with every treatment. Like other laser-based procedures, IPL Photofacial’s light beam feels like a rubber band snapping on the skin.
